Keycentrix™ Becomes SOC 2 Type 2 Compliant

We are excited to share that after months of preparation by our internal teams, keycentrix™ is now SOC 2 Type 2 compliant!

What’s SOC 2?

System and Organization Controls 2, or SOC 2, is a security framework that specifies how organizations should protect customer data from unauthorized access, security incidents, and other vulnerabilities.

The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants developed SOC 2 around defining requirements to manage and store customer data based on five Trust Services Criteria (TSC): security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.

One of the most widely recognized auditing standards that technology companies can achieve to prove their commitment to information security is the SOC report — and when it comes to customer data, SOC 2.

SOC 2 guides independent auditors in evaluating an organization’s operating effectiveness in its security protocols to determine compliance. All five TSCs have specific requirements, and a company puts internal controls in place to meet them.

The SOC 2 Type 1 report evaluates a company’s security controls at a single point in time. Keycentrix became Type 1 compliant Feb. 12. Whereas the SOC 2 Type 2 report assesses how those controls function over a period of time, generally between 3-12 months. Keycentrix became Type 2 compliant June 13.
