It can take a lot of steps to make sure a prescription happens, especially a prescription for specialty medication. At Keycentrix™, we’re all about creating specialty pharmacy software that takes care of behind-the-scenes steps while still ensuring patients’ protected information is safeguarded. It’s a pretty tall order, but it’s worth our focus.
Little Did We Know…
What a surprise it was to learn last fall that our efforts had caught the eye of Surescripts, the administrator of the largest health information exchange in the country.
Earlier in the year, they had decided to expand their well-known White Coat Award competition to include health systems, pharmacies and pharmacy technology leaders that are improving the accuracy of e-prescriptions. In preparation, Surescripts had developed a scorecard and began tracking performance.
Oh, Hey There.
There was no application or candidate submission for the competition, which is why we were a little surprised and a lot stoked to learn we had won the 2019 White Coat Award. What a blast it was to receive the award at the annual Surescripts Network Alliance™ Forum on September 24.
Keycentrix was selected for upholding high standards for trusted information exchanges (keeping patient data safe) while still allowing for interoperability (information exchanges between computer systems or software). We were the only specialty pharmacy software company to receive the award along with national pharmacy giants like CVS Health, Walmart and Humana.
Fuel for Motivation
Following the honor, Keycentrix President Luis Rodriguez told Pharmacy Times: “We are thrilled to receive this award. Much like Surescripts, we place utmost emphasis on patient safety, and we couldn’t be more honored and humbled to be recognized for one of our core values. Our focus is always on doing what’s best for the patients our customers serve.”
The White Coat Award provided validation that the priority Keycentrix places on our customers and their patients is improving the pharmacy industry now and in the future. We think that’s pretty dang cool.
